ARCADIA
The pair of 300- to 400-foot-long breakwaters that flank the entrance to Arcadia Lake are not accessible. The North Breakwater is on private property, and the South Breakwater has no level walking surface and is more than a 11/42-mile-long walk over sand from the dead end of Chamberlain Rd., which has limited parking. Anglers do, however, have access to a fishing platform in Arcadia Lake.
Fishing Platform
Description
On First St. south of the public marina and next to it is Grebe Park, which has a fishing platform. The floating platform is 10 feet wide and 40 feet long and is located in 15 to 20 feet of water. Funding support was provided by the Great Lakes Fishery Trust.
Amenities
Paved parking accommodates 15 vehicles. There is a unisex, barrier-free chemical toilet. The municipal marina features a boat launch and barrier-free restrooms.

Deep water close to shore brings brown trout and steelhead into the surf and tiny Arcadia Lake in spring. Some chinook and an occasional coho salmon follow in late summer and early fall. October and November can be good again for browns and steelhead respectively. The former state record brown trout a 34-lb., 6-oz. bruiser was caught in the harbor in 1984.Trout hit wigglers, spawn sacs, body baits such as Rapalas and Long A Bombers, and 1¼2-oz. to 1-oz. spoons like Kastmasters, Devle Dogs, and Mainliners. Try blue and silver or green and silver in spring, and orange and silver or orange and gold in fall. Salmon prefer active lures like big Flatfish, Wiggle Warts and Hot n Tots in hot fluorescent or glow colors.
