Die Fischereiverwalter setzen junge See-St\u00f6re ein, um die sich selbst erhaltenden Populationen wiederherzustellen. See-St\u00f6re bilden in den Gro\u00dfen Seen genetisch unterschiedliche Populationen und kehren vermutlich zum Laichen in ihre Geburtsgew\u00e4sser zur\u00fcck. Der Mechanismus, durch den erwachsene St\u00f6re zu ihren Laichgr\u00fcnden zur\u00fcckfinden, ist jedoch unbekannt. Ein Forscherteam der Michigan State University und des Michigan Department of Natural Resources stellte die Hypothese auf, dass junge See-St\u00f6re Ger\u00fcche in ihren Geburtsgew\u00e4ssern pr\u00e4gen und diese Ger\u00fcche als Orientierung f\u00fcr ihre R\u00fcckkehr in die Gew\u00e4sser nutzen, wenn sie als erwachsene Tiere laichen. Mit finanzieller Unterst\u00fctzung des Great Lakes Fishery Trust untersuchten Dr. Weiming Li und Kollegen, ob See-St\u00f6rembryonen und -larven in der Lage sind, Ger\u00fcche im Wasser zu pr\u00e4gen und ob die in Fl\u00fcssen vorkommenden Aminos\u00e4uren unterschiedliche Geruchsprofile erzeugen, die die Migration von See-St\u00f6ren leiten k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\r\n\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t\t<h3>Wichtige Erkenntnisse<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Das Forschungsteam setzte Seest\u00f6re im Entwicklungsstadium freier Embryonen und Larven k\u00fcnstlichen Ger\u00fcchen im Wasser aus, in dem sie aufgezogen wurden. Mehr als 50 Tage nach der ersten Exposition reagierten die jungen St\u00f6re in Verhaltenstests immer noch auf die Ger\u00fcche.<\/li>\n<li>Das Team stellte au\u00dferdem fest, dass es in den Aminos\u00e4ureprofilen der Laichgew\u00e4sser erhebliche \u00dcberschneidungen gab. Daher ist es unwahrscheinlich, dass St\u00f6re sich anhand der Aminos\u00e4ureprofile zu ihrem Heimatgew\u00e4sser leiten lassen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Wichtige Ergebnisse f\u00fcr die See-St\u00f6rforschung<\/h3>\n<p>Die von der GLFT unterst\u00fctzte Forschung erweitert das wissenschaftliche Wissen \u00fcber das Heimkehrverhalten von Seest\u00f6ren. Analysen von pazifischen Lachsen, einer Artgruppe, die daf\u00fcr bekannt ist, in ihre Heimatgew\u00e4sser zur\u00fcckzukehren, haben Hinweise auf eine fr\u00fche olfaktorische Pr\u00e4gung ergeben. Obwohl Dr. Lis Forschung keine Hinweise darauf lieferte, dass Aminos\u00e4ureprofile Seest\u00f6re zu ihren Heimatgew\u00e4ssern f\u00fchren, ist sie die erste, die zu dem Schluss kommt, dass Seest\u00f6re sich schon fr\u00fch im Leben Ger\u00fcche im Wasser einpr\u00e4gen k\u00f6nnen.
