Este proyecto ayudar\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos a recomendar las pr\u00f3ximas acciones para reducir o gestionar la TDC en los peces de los Grandes Lagos.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>El \u00e1ngulo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los investigadores ten\u00edan tres hip\u00f3tesis para el estudio: los peces produc\u00edan tiaminasa <em>De nuevo<\/em>La tiaminasa proven\u00eda de bacterias en el intestino de los peces o de los alimentos que consum\u00edan. Desde que se revel\u00f3 la fuente de la tiaminasa, los investigadores han podido comprender mejor c\u00f3mo los peces desarrollan el TDC.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1549\" src=\"https:\/\/glft.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/fish-swimming.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>El meollo del asunto<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos identificaron primero cuatro genes candidatos de tiaminasa: dos genes en la carpa, uno en el pez cebra y uno en las s\u00e1balas. Eligieron estos genes bas\u00e1ndose en datos de amino\u00e1cidos de tiaminasas parcialmente purificadas. Los investigadores utilizaron m\u00e9todos est\u00e1ndar para extraer la prote\u00edna de v\u00edsceras de peces, tejidos y cultivos bacterianos. Con estos procesos, los cient\u00edficos descubrieron si una o m\u00e1s tiaminasas se producen o no en las especies de peces que estudiaron.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Los resultados est\u00e1n aqu\u00ed\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n muestra, por primera vez, que existe un gen que produce tiaminasa en un organismo multicelular. Hasta ahora, el \u00fanico gen conocido que produce tiaminasa se encontraba en una bacteria. En los peces de los Grandes Lagos, se desconoc\u00eda la fuente exacta de tiaminasa. Ahora sabemos que al menos un gen del genoma del pez cebra produce una enzima con actividad de tiaminasa, y se ha identificado un gen candidato para la tiaminasa en las s\u00e1balas.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 significa todo esto?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Al investigar y descubrir las fuentes de tiaminasa, es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil comprender la variaci\u00f3n de la TDC en los ecosistemas de los Grandes Lagos. Esta informaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n ayudar\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos a desarrollar acciones de gesti\u00f3n para reducir la TDC y compensar las p\u00e9rdidas de poblaci\u00f3n.
