En 2018, la ciudad de Cheboygan se puso en contacto con el Consejo de la Cuenca de Tip of the Mitt en busca de ayuda para mejorar el parque Major City. La erosi\u00f3n a lo largo del r\u00edo Cheboygan era algo que pod\u00edamos abordar; las plataformas de pesca resultaron ser la respuesta, ya que mantienen el tr\u00e1fico peatonal al m\u00ednimo y preservan las riberas del r\u00edo. La erosi\u00f3n puede cubrir el h\u00e1bitat de desove de los peces y llevar el exceso de nutrientes a los r\u00edos y lagos. Esto dio lugar a tres solicitudes de subvenci\u00f3n exitosas, una gran cantidad de reuniones p\u00fablicas, una pizca de cobertura de los medios, un mont\u00f3n de llamadas telef\u00f3nicas y ahora estamos aqu\u00ed, en v\u00edsperas de la construcci\u00f3n.
