Bien que la r\u00e9habilitation du touladi dans les Grands Lacs soit un objectif de gestion des p\u00eaches, les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent ont largement \u00e9chou\u00e9 en raison du faible taux de survie aux premiers stades de vie, des pratiques d&#039;empoissonnement inappropri\u00e9es, du nombre insuffisant d&#039;adultes et des femelles produisant des \u0153ufs \u00e0 faible teneur en thiamine. Ce projet aidera les scientifiques \u00e0 recommander les prochaines mesures \u00e0 prendre afin de r\u00e9duire ou de g\u00e9rer le TDC chez les poissons des Grands Lacs.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>L&#039;angle<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les chercheurs avaient trois hypoth\u00e8ses pour l\u2019\u00e9tude : les poissons produisaient de la thiaminase <em>de novo<\/em>La thiaminase provient soit des bact\u00e9ries pr\u00e9sentes dans l&#039;intestin des poissons, soit de la nourriture consomm\u00e9e par les poissons. Depuis que la source de la thiaminase a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e, les chercheurs ont pu mieux comprendre comment les poissons d\u00e9veloppent la TDC.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1549\" src=\"https:\/\/glft.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/fish-swimming.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>L&#039;essentiel<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les scientifiques ont d\u2019abord identifi\u00e9 quatre g\u00e8nes candidats de thiaminases : deux g\u00e8nes chez la carpe, un chez le poisson z\u00e8bre et un chez le gaspareau. Ils ont choisi ces g\u00e8nes en se basant sur les donn\u00e9es d\u2019acides amin\u00e9s provenant de thiaminases partiellement purifi\u00e9es. Les chercheurs ont utilis\u00e9 des m\u00e9thodes standard pour extraire la prot\u00e9ine des visc\u00e8res, des tissus et des cultures bact\u00e9riennes des poissons. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces processus, les scientifiques ont d\u00e9couvert si une ou plusieurs thiaminases \u00e9taient produites ou non dans les esp\u00e8ces de poissons qu\u2019ils \u00e9tudiaient.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Les r\u00e9sultats sont l\u00e0\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les recherches d\u00e9montrent pour la premi\u00e8re fois l&#039;existence d&#039;un g\u00e8ne produisant de la thiaminase dans un organisme multicellulaire. Jusqu&#039;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, le seul g\u00e8ne connu pour produire de la thiaminase se trouvait dans une bact\u00e9rie. Chez les poissons des Grands Lacs, la source exacte de la thiaminase \u00e9tait inconnue. Nous savons maintenant qu&#039;au moins un g\u00e8ne du g\u00e9nome du poisson z\u00e8bre produit une enzyme \u00e0 activit\u00e9 thiaminase, et un g\u00e8ne candidat de la thiaminase a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9 chez le gaspareau.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Qu&#039;est-ce que tout cela signifie ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En recherchant et en d\u00e9couvrant les sources de thiaminase, il est plus facile de comprendre la variation du TDC dans les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes des Grands Lacs. Ces informations aideront \u00e9galement les scientifiques \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des mesures de gestion pour r\u00e9duire le TDC et compenser les pertes de population.
