The GLFT supports a wide range of projects in its various grant programs. The Small Grants Program offers a streamlined application process for projects aligned with GLFT priorities and smaller in scope than are often supported through our other requests for proposals. Additionally, we will accept proposals for funding symposia, workshops, and conferences that align with these program areas. Individual requests must not exceed $20,000.
Applicant Eligibility
Organizations eligible to apply for GLFT grants include nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service (or nongovernmental organizations holding charitable status in their country), as well as educational and governmental (including tribal) organizations.
Project Eligibility
The GLFT will consider smaller grants that demonstrate a direct contribution to one or more of the following GLFT program areas as defined by the respective policy documents or most recent grant program requests for proposals.
Additional project-specific considerations, priorities, and requirements are provided in the Policies and How to Apply sections below. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact GLFT staff prior to submission of a grant proposal to discuss project eligibility, goals, and alignment with GLFT priorities. Staff is available to assist applicants with navigating the online grant proposal submission process.
Policies
The GLFT will consider smaller grant requests that align with our Small Grants Policy. As described in this policy, projects must demonstrate a direct contribution to one or more GLFT program areas as defined by the respective policy documents or most recent grant program requests for proposals.
