The Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT) is now accepting proposals under its new Small Grants program for requests $20,000 and less.
This request for proposals (RFP) will be used to disburse up to $127,500 for projects requesting $20,000 and less. The Small Grants program provides a more streamlined application process for projects that align with GLFT priorities and are smaller in scope than are often supported through our other requests for proposals. Proposals will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until Friday, October 9, 2026. Please review the grant calendar on the Small Grants page when timing your request. Proposals must be submitted through the GLFT website.
GLFT staff will host an informational webinar on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The webinar will provide an overview of the program and the opportunity to address applicants’ questions. For those that cannot attend, a recording will be posted on the GLFT website.
Grants awarded through this RFP must align with existing GLFT grant programs and applicants are encouraged to review program policies and recent requests for proposals when developing their application.

- Habitat Protection and Restoration
- Human Dimensions Research and Engagement
- Great Lakes Stewardship
GLFT sponsorship of symposia, workshops, and conferences have been merged into this program. To request GLFT sponsorship of an event please submit a proposal through the Small Grants program.
